A genealogical exploration of the ancestors of
Terrie Lynn
Bittner
This genealogical exploration is very tentative. I have gathered
sources from the internet, and a few from proper sources. I am currently in the
process of verifying what I gathered as I stayed home caring for and educating
children. Each page strives to explain where material came from (recognizing
that I began gathering before I understood the importance of documentation.)
Although the names and dates are important, it is the stories
that interest me. As I search, I try to imagine the real people behind the
names. Since most of the people on my lists aren't famous, it means noticing how
many children died at young ages, how often they moved and when--and hopefully
being able to guess why--and thinking about the history of the times they lived
in. From those clues, I try to make my family come to life. As you search my
site, you will sometimes encounter little notes about my wonderings or
discoveries. I hope this makes my page a little different from some of the
others.
My current project is to search for Rebecca Bloomfield, to see
if I can find proof that Rebecca, the wife of Charles Salyer , really is a
Bloomfield. I start with a bias, because I thought she was, grew to love her
family...and want to stay related!
This is a new page, and I am trying to make it as useful as
possible. Please be patient while I build the many threads. If you think you are
related, email me at terrie@terriebittner.com. Please place the words "Treasured
Time" as the header. This keeps your email from being eaten by the spam filter.
(It's the name of my main website.) Since I'm adding material slowly, I may have more
than is online and I'd be thrilled if you would share what you know.
The descendency page
will give you a list of my direct line, with links to the pages I have
completed. I am adding at least one page per week at the moment. If you would
like to be notified when the page is updated, please email me at
terrie@terriebittner.com. Use as your heading Genealogy mailing list. Thanks!
