Nouns for Little Learners

If your older children are learning about nouns, why not let the little ones play, too? Copy and paste this into your word processing program, leaving as much space as you need for the drawings.

What is a noun?

A noun is a special kind of word. A noun can be a person. Mommy is a noun. Aunt Martha is a noun. What is your name? Your name is a noun, too. The word doctor is a noun because a doctor is a person.

Draw a picture of a person you love. Have someone help you write the name of that person. The name they write is a noun.

A noun can be a place. What is the name of your street? The name of your street is a noun. Where is your favorite place to play? That place is a noun. Playground is a noun. Grocery store is a noun. Disneyland is a noun.

Draw a picture of your favorite place. Have someone help you write the name of the place. What you write is a noun.
