Noah is filling his ark with animals. He needs to of every kind of animal. Finish the sentences with the plural of the animal he is putting on the ark. Be careful--some animal names don't follow the rules. Don't be fooled!
1. Noah decided to get the big animals on the ark first. He found one elephant. The other was playing hide and seek. He finally found it hiding behind a mountain. Now he had two _________________
2. Next Noah went to look for giraffes. They're pretty hard to miss with those long necks. He found one giraffe playing in the sand. He put it on the ark and went to find its mate. The other giraffe was playing tag with a baby monkey. He put the giraffe on the ark. Now he had two __________.
3. Since he knew where a monkey was, he went back and gathered it up. But where was the other monkey? He found it way up high in a tree, eating a banana. He took some bananas with him to keep the monkey happy and now there were two _________________.
4. Noah wanted a nice fuzzy lion for his ark. He found one sleeping in the sun. The other one was sleeping on a rock. He woke them both up and now he had two _____________.
5. A hippopotomus! Noah had almost forgotten about that animal. Both were swimming in the river, so he led them back to his ark. Now he had two ______________________. (This one is tricky--check your answer!)
6. Noah was sort of afraid of the gray wolf he found, but he bravely located its mate and brought them both safely to the ark. Now he had two _______________________
7. Noah found a lovely deer nibbling some grass. It was shy, but he gently led it and its mate onto the ark and now he had two ______________________. (Another tricky one. Be careful!)
8. It was a lot harder to find a goose. Actually, he could find it. He just had trouble getting it to land. But he did and it called its mate. Now he had two ________________. (Be careful with this one too.)
9. Gathering a kangaroo was fun. Noah hopped right along and found the mate. Now he had two ________________.
10. He was looking for his favorite animal! Write what you think his favorite animal was, and then make sentences like the ones above. Be sure to put both the singular and plural forms of the animal name in your sentences.
