Compound Nouns 2: Mix and Match

Remember that a compound noun is made when two nouns work together to make one word. Sometimes they are written as if they were a single word. Other times, they're written a two words, but work together. Examples: Bathtub, swimming pool

Below are many nouns. Try to join two nouns from the choices to make a compound noun. Write your list below the table of nouns.

Teacher tip: Help your child think up a large number of compound nouns. Write each noun in the compound on a separate file card. Mix them up and let your child play at matching them. For fun, put words together that don't belong and draw pictures of the new invention.
