Animal Alphabetizing
Parents: copy and paste the list or a portion of it into a word processing program and enlarge the font size before printing if your child works better with a larger font. Your child can then rearrange the list right on the computer if you choose. You can also make them very large and print them out. Cut them into squares and let your child organize them into alphabetical order. This is much easier for most children, and more hands-on. Answers below.
Students: Put the following words in alphabetical order. Remember that if the first letters are the same, you should look at the second letter. If those are both the same, go to the third letter, and so on. If you find this hard to do, cut each word out. Then choose one word. Put it on the table or floor. Choose another word. Does it go before or after the first word you chose? If you find you've made a mistake, it's very easy to change. Your parent can either check your work by looking at your list, or, if you have to save the results to show someone, you can copy the list or glue the words onto paper.
